THE THINGS I LOVE

1. Jelena Dokic is a true inspiration to teenagers. See what happens when we ditch our parents? We can all start playing tennis really well and get into the quarter finals of the Australian Open. Seriously though, perhaps we should just all be glad that our parents, no matter how over bearing they are, isn’t as bad as Jelena’s father.

2. It took me a huge leap of self-courage but I have deleted Warcraft 3. I have also quit my job. All this has left me with a lot of spare time (about 15 hours a week) which I will try to dedicate to studying. Sacrifices of what’s fun sometime has to be made for what’s good for you.

3. Tomorrow I start the 2 year epic journey, which decides my social standing in the Asian community, which will (according to my parents) decide the course of my life. Tomorrow, I will be attending St. Kevins College, doing the first of 2 years of VCE. This is one Asian stereotype that I do fit in. I wish everyone else taking this journey with me good luck and have fun.

4. Awkwardness. Many things lead up to awkwardness, getting someone gifts that are overly expensive, asking awkward questions, being friends with someone that another friend hates and trying to say you really enjoy reading this blog when you don’t actually read it. It’s what makes the world go around.

5. When I move out, I am getting a dog. I’m not going to get a pitbull or something extraordinary aggressive like that, but rather something cute and small. Dogs aren’t smart enough to make you angry at them, to make you sad, to piss you off or, for that matter, get pissed off. A dog will always there.
And so it begins. The major influence for my life for the next two years. There is no turning back, and only looking ahead. The light is at the end of the tunnel.
