So after about half an hour of playing tetris, it became crystal clear to me that I wouldn't be getting Rank 14 any time soon ( average of 1:50 to clear 40 lines.) I've been meaning to write a blog about Music for quite a while now.
Music has the ability to inspire and bind large groups of people together. Every member of year 12 at St. Kevins remember's the "Power of your Love" sung at Newman College. Huntingtower students will remember a wonderful night on Thursday at Mount Scopus as they participated in their final House Musical. (Stand out performance was Bruce's choice song "Somebody to Love Me" led by Clare Higgins"
The ability to create music rather than simply listening to it is with the advent of MP3 and the internet has vastly diminished. One of my strongest memory, was on a cold and frosty morning I played in front of my year Chopin's 15th Nocturne to perfection. The reaction of students and teachers alike makes me want to jump on the piano and start playing again. Creating music is a ability which should not be overlooked. The SKC warcry epitomizes St. Kevins's spirit and unity, whilst more humble music such as Chopin's 15th Nocturne requires more darker thoughts. Creating music gives you the an unique way to express yourself and your emotions.
