Hey guys! With September, comes spring and with spring the blooming of flowers. I take the same photos every year but there is something about them that makes me.
Well, last week went rather interestingly. I know I write a lot of unpopular opinions on here, but honestly I didn't think the post on ALS would cause so much controversy.
Which is the one of the reasons of why I enjoy writing, but last week was rather difficult. Its interesting to see whilst that people who agreed with my point of view were more likely to voice their support publicly and those who disagreed were only comfortable in starting private debates.
I guess hearing some people's opinion does soften my stance on the issue a little. A little.
But like all trends its dying out and in another week I don't expect any more mention of the ALS challenge, which does slightly prove a (my) point. Its good see the jump in readers and going back to my roots of raging at topical subjects.
Two weeks ago now, during design week, I made many mistakes, something I haven't done that in a group assignment in such a very long time and possibly not ever. That combined with other things, has destroyed a lot of the confidence/arrogance that I was that let me made good snap judgments.
Seeds of doubt can absolutely destroy a man's judgement and rationale.
I saw nobody, during steel design week. It made me realize that every time I say it can wait, I'm doing certain things injustice. "I can't do this week, but there's always next week." That's one opportunity gone, not a reason. If we wait for a time when we're both free then its probably not the best friendship ever.
Strength of friendships are built and destroyed on how much time we have for each other. It shouldn't be able how often we're both free at the same time so that neither of us needs to make any real effort in seeing each other. Friends aren't supposed to be easy to maintain.
I've started reading again. There's an author named David Gemmell; he's my favourite authors. He absolutely excels at writing heroic fantasy, where he constructs a wonderful character filled with flaws back story and builds up a whole world for them to live and grow in. Gemmell did it better than anyone I know. If you haven't read the trilogy 'Troy' then I would highly recommend it. It was the series that defined my later high school years.
This week, the Australian government decided to take action against ISIS by supplying weapons to Kurdish fighters. Did we learn nothing from America, in Afghanistan many years ago? I mean, really, that pretty much cause the war we're having now and that's not even a far stretch of imagination.
