Following Our Values

Hey guys! Summers has once again come to an end. It was an eventful summer, friendships, forged, galvanized and repaired. All in all just pretty enjoyable. Summer's always got a way to make everything seem to be better with a slight tint over it. Everything seems, just seems a little bit, warmer.

Probably didn't get to the beach enough. Didn't take that trip away from Melbourne. But you know, semantics.

Last night I was out with some friends. Really, I don't know if we're friends, because they're all horrible people and made fun of me. It was however, very interesting and we had a good laugh at how different we all were.

We're not supposed to find it difficult to find our values. Following it should be easier still. We use the same values (compass) to justify our actions. The only problem comes when we have to deviate from those values, and walk in a different direction.

The values will set ourselves, is really, only useful for when we are able to use it. Its hard to to make decisions to when your compass doesn't work. Or doesn't exist. Or just don't know which way its pointing.

I'm envious of those who live by strict values. They don't seem have as many contentious issues to worry about. When an issue arises they seem to know what they're doing. When I'm face with a left and right in the path, I just grasp at straws and splutter when I have to justify my choices. I can't just go , oh hey, my values are such and such and so I'm going to do this. And in so many situation, that would have been so very useful.

Probably, for those who have compasses is when they want to go somewhere else, away from the compasses advice direction. When there's no compass to direct you, making decisions against your conscious is just, that much easier. You get to evaluate each case individually and treat it on its on merits more.

Also, whats with people when talking about babies. Oh hey, the baby is so cute I could gobble it all up. I mean, whats with that, why would you want to eat a baby? Like, okay, I know its not supposed to be taken litearlly, but for the life of me, whats the metaphor?
