Melbourne in Spring Time!

Blogging is never suppose to be hard. The hard posts however define the blog, the blogger and its content.

So here we go. This post probably goes against everything I've tried to blog about, to get rid of all the seriousness of life. One relapse.

We continue to inch closer to the dreaded day of when exams begin, when they finish when we get our results back.

Then there's the day when we find out whether we get into the courses we want.

But first we must pick courses, courses we want to be in.

For most, its simple, the job they've had their mind out since they were young or since they started high school or simply VCE.

For others it is harder, harder to choose what they want. For us we don't know what we want.

Is our purpose in life to succeed? To be successful means to earn lots of money? Or it to be happy. Or to make others happy, to make our children happy, the ones we care for, happy?

Or is it simply the legacy that we leave behind?

Chances are always dangled in front of you. Only the naive take every possible risk.

Spring is suppose to bring renewal, life and energy. I remember when I was in primary school, when spring rain brought that smell which felt so good in your lungs. When the sun started to shine again meant an end to soggy ovals and wet bags. We didn't have any responsibilities then.

This year, like everything else, Spring seems so very different.

The Secret Life of Asians - GG and Its Many Meanings.

GG DOES NOT MEAN GOSSIP GIRL. IT DOES NOT REFER TO SOME (bad) TV SHOW. GTFO MY BLOG IF YOU THINK THAT.

GG =/= Gossip Girl

I've been asked countless times what the words GG means. To the uneducated GG is just the 7th letter of the alphabet repeated twice in quick succession. (You have no idea how many times I had to count on my fingers there.)

To the educated gamer, the techo savy kid or your average Asian GG, is an acronym for the words Good Game. How it is used however is far more important. The subtleties behind each context is take many year to master (young grasshopper.)

2.0 This is probably the original form of GG. After a fair and close game GG would be uttered by both teams to demonstrate sportsmanship.

GG (Good game) Game finishes score is 50-47. Red Team GG Blue Team GG
If you're Asian it'd probably be "GG LAH."

2.1 So gg is used to represent exclamation in this case.

Me: How'd you go on your exam?
Person 1: 88/90
Me: GG! Well done!
(Person 1: Gossip Girl? *scratches head*)

That's a GG nice car

2.2 Bl stands for bad luck. Here gg was used to express remorse and pity. Notice the lower case use of gg.

Me: How'd you go on your exam?
Person 2: 30/90
Me: gg man, bl bl.
(Person 2: Beautiful Lady?!? ARE YOU CALLING ME A LADY?")

2.3 Here GG stands awesome, strong, good e.t.c.

Person 3: That movie was GG! or Man, those soldiers are GG

2.4 Here GG is used to represent a very or to place emphasis on the adjective.

Person 4: Man that movie was GG bad!

2.5 Again, Asians fail at grammar. So we just add -er to everything and think it makes a new word. A gg-er does not have to be positive. When someone says "What a gg-er" that (usually) means he's arrogant or annoying.

Gg is called after every good game.
Person 5: That guy is such a gg-er

2.6 Here GG is used to express shock or dismay. Again context is important.

Person 6: Man we have to do 5 hours of homework tonight.
Person 7: GG! WTF?

2.8 Gee gee is used far less. Gee gee rhymes with bee bee. Used to convey dismay, exaperation.

Person 8: Teacher: You have a test next week. The week after you have practice exam
Me: Gee gee.

2.9 Used to convey laughter or palm face.

Tom Ruddell: Don't make me highlight you!
Me: GG LOL!

Palm Face!

Something for the Jack All Series on the weekend!
