Hey Guys!
On Tuesday we went out to the Hawthorn Hotel for some post (well for some of us it was post, for others it was during the exams and hence it was the cbf studying for my last exam) exam celebration. My last exam was informatics the day before and I had totally forgotten about Tuesday night until I was reminded on Friday night.
Before the night, there was a bit of debate as to when the start time for the even should be. I personally thought it should haveeen at 6:30 so people would not be confused as to whether to have dinner before hand. In the end I changed it twice and left it at 8:30.
J and I, had dinner at Grill'd. J is a great kid and thought it would be smart to bring an umbrella. You know one of those umbrella's thats a good size to put away somewhere. JK he brought an umbrella similar to this size...
Ok, lets be fair it wasn't that big. It was bigger.
Anyway, I had a good laugh at that. He insisted it was going to rain. I caught up with him and had a good chat over a nice burger. The topic drifted to Greece and whether it should bailed out by other countries such as Germany. Basically I said it shouldn't be because in the end that's how wars start.
Yes.
Afterwards we went over to D's place. It was a almost 2km walk in the chilly night. I like usual had printed off a map of the walk and knew exactly where I was going.
LOL J/K I never print of maps and knew vaguely where I was going.
J was trusted me with his life. J/K he looked it up on the iPhone.
We got there without taking a wrong turn. To be fair we could have caught the tram, but hell we both needed the exercise.
Like usual I might add.
Get to D's house and we caught up. D started to be his usual racist self. He probably shut me down the same amount of times as the number of exams he (didn't) passed.
S and A arrived with a girl name E who I didn't know. And for a while we had a good time catching up. J, A and I filled each other in from all the gossip from Melbourne Uni.
There are some things that just can't be discussed over MSN/facebook effectively. Like shaking on bets or just getting facts straight. Even for just that, just to catch up with friends it was worth it.
We realise that our lunch times would be different again. No more Thursdays in the Union lounge having a good chat.
Everyone looked at me strangely when they realise I didn't have an iPod.
D was like; why don't you want to listen to my iPod
S was like; cause I don't want to cut myself before we go out.
We all had a bit to drink there... some more than others. S also made an amazing new drink. It needs to be tasted to be believed.
I was quite keen on drinking my drink straight. You know. The Mountain Dew. It makes me do this...
So we started walking to the Hawthorn at 8.
I said something to A that was quite insulting. A was quite pissed and turned around either to rebuke me but probably more likely to slap me. I couldn't remember what I said. Honest.
Well she tripped. On her heels. Clearly someone can't hold her liquor. :D
We had walked for 20-30 minutes when I complained we wouldn't get there before 8:30.
E was like: Don't worry we're nearly there.
I was like: We're not even halfwayE started turning
D who knows me so well was like: he's joking at the same time I said I was joking.
The rest of the night went like a blur. D finished off his Bailey’s with milk and we walked to the Hawthorn. Everyone remembered their ID and we were all happy chappys. J and I split a jug of beer sat down and I caught up with a friend who I hadn’t seen for ages. D was very nice to everyone and made sure everyone was happy. In the end everyone left around midnight, after a few (too many drinks).
It would be a crime not to do it again.
