Advice and Responsibility

Hey guys! You know what really grinds my gears. People who have no opinion. Okay, that doesn't REALLY grinds my gears. That only sightly grinds my gears. What REALLY grinds my gears is when people don't have an opinion on what happens next and then when something happens and they like it suddenly they have an opinion.

Ok, mostly its the negative opinions but I guess it could apply to both. When something goes wrong and originally its all, "anything is okay." and then when stuff doesn't go right its all, "I knew we should have done this and that."

This and that, would have been useful when we were making the decision in the first place.

When people ask you for advice or what they think should happen next and when your advice is wrong or doesn't turn out as expected, they get unhappy and mad. Ok, not mad. but unhappy.

Honestly, advice is supposed to be just suggestions. No one made anyone follow other people's advice. To be fair, when you give advice you expect people to be influenced some what by your advice. Hell, when people ask for your advice, surely they are expecting to hear something honest right. I mean if you've already made up your mind, someone has already made up their mind they wouldn't need advice right?

This doesn't mean advice is the only the way forward. I don't know about you guys, but when I give advice I don't expect them to follow, just to listen. I mean that's what advice is there for; to be heard.

When I ask for advice I don't pin all the responsibility on the advice. In the end, whether I choose to heed the advice or I follow another path, that's on me. I don't understand it any other ways. If we blame other people because of the advice they give, than why would anyone give any advice at all. Being friends with someone surely doesn't mean you have to be responsible for any advice you give to them.
