TI4-TI5: The Story Lines

With TI starting so soon, I wanted to write a hype post for /r/dota2.

The story lines of the players should be considered. Between TI4 and now, so much has happen.

East: The legacy of TI4's DK.

Vici, after the success of ESL and the Summit, a second at DAC and multitude of other accolades decided to kick fan favourite ^Black for Newbee's Hao. Since then their results, in this patch has been lack luster. Iceiceice, known troll, has said himself that they just suck. Perhaps he's hiding some hidden strategies.

At LGD, Xiao8 the director himself has returned to join MMY and his old team mate Sylar. Can he win  at the team where he made his name? Recent success in China suggest its possible. Since returning, Xiao8 has innovated in draft and executed to perfection during the games themselves.

Burning, the B-God himself, joins the most experienced team at TI with iG. Considered by the Chinese community to be "The First Gentleman of DotA," Burning will have one last chance to complete his story and to cement his place in DotA folklore.

LanM, now a father, returns under the leadership of ROTK with a trio of new players in tow. Among them is CTY, who until now has been an untamed pub-star. Many had considered CTY as a solo player unsuited for the rigors of team play, but now at EHOME, CTY has been playing out of his mind and has proven to be an integral part of EHOME. A good performance at TI will set him up well for the years to come.

Mushi, the Maestro, returns to lead a new Malaysian team for yet another tilt at the title. Reminiscent of his MVPesque performance at TI3, Mushi will need to bring his Shadow Fiend once more to wow the crowds again.

West: Post Shuffle

After the great European shuffle between C9, EG and Secret, EG came out with a new player, the young and raw Sumail. Of the back of this shuffle and Sumail, EG found success at DAC, the biggest non-TI tournament to date. Can EG, led by the saltshaker himself PPD, replicate that success?

C9, with yet another string of second place finishes this year, brings the character of EternalEnvy to the table. EE personifies heartbreak; after being kicked from NTH and the lack of TP's at DAC, C9 is the team that every fan has a little bit in their heart for.

FNG, joined Navi only to be kicked and now leads Virtus-Pro in TI5. After picking himself up after being kicked, FNG pulled led VP to victory after victory, to earn that direct invite over his former team.

Na'Vi after such a long time in the wilderness has finally found its groove, just at the right time. With the veteran ArtStyle back and the support of the the former Power Ranger, Sonneiko, Navi has had new life breathed back into them.

And the favorite themselves, Team Secret.
The captain of Alliance's TI3 winning team S4,
Puppey, captain of the legendary Na'Vi, winner of TI1, runner-up twice
Kuroky, one of the most versatile players in Europe.
Zai, offlaner of EG
Arteezy, considered by many the strongest core player in the world right now.

Withe the last four consecutive LAN wins, Secret is the team to beat.
