2011 - The Ties That Bind (part 1)

Hey guys! Well its the end of yet another year and so once again its time for me to write my end of year post.

2011 has been without a doubt a wonderful year. Regrets were few and far in between, whlist highlights was just about every other week.

I can honestly remember every night I went out this year. From the very first bowling night to the very last one. From the SSS ball, to getting Pho, to my birthday dinner to just simply going out to the Queensberry for a parma and jug. This year has been filled with memories.

As for regrets, well, this is probably not the right medium for it here. I misjudged a person and tried to rectify it. Looking back on it I don't know why I gave him a chance when he really didn't deserve one.

And here's where I thank everyone, for this wonderful year and all that I have to be grateful for.

As always, the very first people I need to thank are my readers. This year doaabc has grown again, in terms of readership. Without your help, this blog would not exist. I say this every year but it does not make it less true. It has continued to evolve to feature more multimedia and more serious posts. Everytime I don't post, I remember that there are those of you waiting for a post from me.

Doaabc will continue on in 2012, and it is because of you the readers.

This year I'd also like to thank everyone who's given me a like on my 365 photo album. 365 hasn't turned out quite how I expected but it has achieved its aim. I've improved my photography and have found a talent/hobby to take to the new year. I'm not going  to lie, I get a kick everytime someone likes my photo. I hope those photos has given you a smile or two.

And so here we go, time to thank the friends of 2011.

To my new found University group.

At the start of the year, I was talking to Gab, and we were saying how nervous we were to make new friends at University and having to find a new friend ship group. And look how we've turned out. This group is the one I drop everything for. The one that I skip lectures for, not attend workshops and get lunch with. They are my point of call when I need someone to hang out with during breaks.

Don't ask me how it happend, because I don't honestly know how.

To Alice 'mother hen' Dunn, thank you for being honest with me. It is your opinion I've come to respect most the most because I know it is your own. It isn't necessarily what I want to hear, but what you think. Honest opinion today is hard to find. From that very first question at Star Camp to telling me when my present ideas were horrible, I thank you.

To Amanda Chong-Halliday, thank you for being un-assuming. Of the group, actually, out of anyone you're probably the easiest to chat with. Conversation with you always seems to be flowing and everything I say seems to make a lot more sense after talking to you. From those Jager bombs at the nerd party to being very high at Luna park, I thank you.

To Gabreilla Sgro, thank you for your faith in me. There's a lot things that should be said but thank you for believing in me. I don't have a longer chat history with anyone on MSN or facebook. Nor do I stay up so late for no reason. From reassuring me about my exams to assuming that the best outcome would happend everytime, I thank you.

To Joshuah 'I'm from the country' Wren, for being neutral through everything and anything thank you. Well, if there was ever a person who had a different personailty from me than you'd be pretty close. And it is this difference, that I think makes us such good friends. From that first night at the Hawthorne to that train trip back from Brighton beach, thank you for the banter and the jokes, I thank you.

To Mina 'Derkaderka Barsoum, for all the stories I will have to tell everyone at parties and for being a friend through ESD, maths and Linear. This year would have been a lot more boring without you. There wouldn't be nearly as many stores nor nearly as many antics to remember. ESD and  maths would have been harder. From the 20 parmas and pot at the Queensberry and cheers to staying at Uni to finish the spider man assignment I thank you.

To Sam 'Responsible' Briggs, for being the responsible/reliable one. I don't know how I would have got home that night if you weren't driving, nor do I know how the others would have got home. You always seem to have a plan and I reckon you should have the looking after Drunk Mina medal. Thank you for that moment when I went ' you do engineering?' to taking away the champagne from Mina's hand at Catherines, I thank you.
