This year has been as close to perfection as it gets. No year can be absolutely perfect but this year comes very close.
For better or for worse, these friends have made this year. I haven't achieved as much this year as I have other years but sometimes the best things in life aren't achievements.
With the year drawing to a close it would be unrealistic of me to expect this great run to continue. Perfection never last, the world changes and it wouldn't be perfection if it did.
Sometimes the world needs to be a bit cynical. We can hope that everything will go right, that our plans will align and the world will line up for us and just for us.
For every success, there are many failures. Without failures there would be no success.
We can't just buy things without looking at our bank accounts first.
We can't pass exams without studying first.
We can't just meet the perfect girl if we don't look.
As children we get taught that everything will be alright. That if we believe hard enough we'll get all that we want.
And as we grow up, we realise that dreams are not enough. Nor are beliefs. Not even hard work.
We must hope that our dreams and expectations will come to fruition just as we must expect failure and disappointment.
And on this note I'll sign off, for the last time in 2011. I wish everyone the an amazing New Years Eve for 2011 and for 2012 to be everything you hope it to be.
