Closure and Juggling
Hey guys! December is, surprisingly, here already. After this year, through everything the end is finally in sight.
I got my results back and whilst I'm not thrilled about them, they're enough to get me through to masters next year which is great. I will be graduating within the month.
Usually I trivialize these achievements but even for someone who doesn't like congratulations for getting to these milestones I feel that completing my bachelor degree is something I can be proud of.
Every year December rolls around and I'm surprised at where the year's gone.
And every year we look back on how the year has been. We look for closure in everything we do and when we approach the end of the year, I feel that I'm always doing the same.
When someone says no, you want to know why they say no
When you have a party you want to know whether everyone had a good time
When friends tries something risky, you want to know they went
We want to see everything right through to the end
We want to relax and finish something before we start the next thing.
We need to close some doors before we open more.
Nowadays, we juggle a hundred and one balls. I think December, for a lot of people is the time we put down those balls.
Then look down
Collect the balls
That has fallen
The neglected, the difficult
We look at those and see why they fell,
Perhaps we were juggling the wrong ones
Perhaps we were juggling too many at the time
Perhaps they weren't round enough, making them difficult to handle
Then we look at the ones we kept up
The important ones
Goals we now call achievements,
Ones which we kept juggling
And we say thank you
To the friends that help keep them up
To every skill that we've learnt before
To the dropped balls so that we learn from our mistakes
Then we rest and prepare to do it all again
When we're ready to juggle more
